My experience with Instructional Design dates back to 2001, when I graduated from M.B.A with specialization in HR. Over the last 16 years my journey has taken me through healthcare, human resource, education, and training. Having transcended through 4 different realms, the unique thread that binds them is instructional design. Understanding organizational behavior, applying theories of motivation, aligning training to the companies’ mission and conducting cost-benefit analysis is inherent in my nature because of my work with human resource. In the last 10 years, I have designed modules, mapped out curriculum, developed manuals, coached and written facilitator’s guides for 3 different school districts, several higher ed. institutions, customer care and healthcare companies. In the recent past as a Reading Specialist and Curriculum Designer at a Texas public school, I have trained teachers in Reading/ writing best practices, tech programs like I-Station, Eduphoria, small group instruction, reading assessments and characteristics of dyslexia. I worked with a team of SMEs to develop elementary curriculum, job-aids, training manuals, conduct task and needs analysis and cost-benefit reports. More recently, I worked with International Professors Project as an instructional designer. The team at IPP consults with professors to design/develop new course syllabi, course objectives, recommend instructional delivery methods, define educational goals and provide strategies for assessment. I conduct formal and informal workshops, consultations and informational briefings with faculty members to provide training and suggest best methods of delivery.

In my current position as an instructional designer for OptumRx, UnitedHealthcare, I design learning solutions for their pharmacy division. Since the beginning of my career, I have been passionate about empowering learners to reach their potential by making content accessible through multiple modes of delivery (face-to-face, WBT, vILT, or ILT). I enjoy every aspect of designing and developing.
